Hello and welcome to The Hickson Diaries! I’m so excited to finally share this space with you. This blog is all about my adventures, misadventures, and everything in between as an American living in the UK. Whether you’re a fellow expat, someone considering a move, or just curious about life across the pond, I hope you find something here that resonates with you.

Living in the UK has been a whirlwind of new experiences. From the first time I tried to understand British slang (and failed miserably) to navigating the complexities of British weather, there’s always something new to learn. I’ve also come to realize how much of my American background influences how I see the world here. It’s a bit like wearing a new pair of glasses – everything looks a little different, but it’s also incredibly exciting.

Through The Hickson Diaries, I’ll be sharing everything from tips for expats and funny cultural differences, to travel stories and reflections on what it means to call a new country home. But this blog is not just about me – it’s about building a community. I want to hear your stories too!
